Traditional AAO templates are made of high purity aluminum sheets, which are easy to operate and have high degree of freedom. However, it is difficult for AAO templates to enter the semiconductor process and form complex micro-devices. In order to solve this problem, AAO templates on substrates emerge as the times require. The AAO template is usually prepared by depositing a layer of aluminum on the substrate first. Compared with the ultra-thin AAO template transferred to the substrate, the advantages of this in-situ growth of AAO template are that AAO and substrate bond very closely, the template has no wrinkles and macroscopic fluctuations, and does not detach from the substrate.
